This is a dish that we have here alot at parties. You can never go to a party with seeing this on the menu. My step grandfather is from the Philippines & my grandmother made this almost always for him. We grew up on this. Grandma always had a fresh made pot on the stove & fresh cooked "Hento" rice aka Spanish Rice ready to go. Tonight for dinner my sister Nanette made her way of the recipe. It not only looked good but smelled & tastedd good.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chopped pork
  • 1 package frozen peas
  • 1 can tomatoes, diced
  • 1 can tomatoe sauce
  • 2 small bay leaf
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • dash salt and pepper

How To Make peas & pork

  • Step 1
    frist per heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Peel & dice the onion. Then add in a TBSP of E.V.O, then add in the diced onions to cook. Cook just to almost soften.
  • Step 2
    Next add in the chop pork with the bay laef, salt & pepper. Cook until pork is no longer pink. Then add in the dice tomatoes, peas & sauce. Bring to a boil. Make sure to mix so not to brun.
  • Step 3
    Then take off heat & remove the bay leaf. And serve over fresh cooked rice.
  • Step 4
    Note: It was good but I did wish I had a plate of fresh cooked Hento rice "Spanish Rice" to go along with this.
