- 1 pound country-style spareribs, trimmed
- 1/2 - lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup tomato based chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
How To Make oven barbecued country style spareribs (for 2)

Step 1Arrange spareribs in a single layer in an 8-inch-square baking dish. Distribute lemon and onion evenly over meat.

Step 2Cover and bake in a 350F oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Step 3Meanwhile, in a pan combine brown sugar, chili powder, celery seed, garlic salt, water, chili sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire, and soy sauce: Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Step 4Remove lemon and onion slices and discard. Lift ribs from pan and cut in serving-size pieces. Discard pan drippings.

Step 5Return meat to pan and pour hot sauce over. Continue baking, uncovered, basting frequently, for about 45 minutes or until meat is glazed, fork tender.

Step 6Transfer meat to a serving dish. Skim off and discard any fat from sauce. Spoon sauce over meat.
