I just made this up today because I was wanting to do an apple and pork roast but all of the recipes I found had sliced onion in them. With the picky eaters in my home the apples would have went to waste if they saw the onion slices. So I improvised, with wonderful results.
I decided that I wanted to twist it up a bit so I used cinnamin apple sauce, and a wonderful product that I just discovered last week, Fusia's Orange Ginger Wok Sauce. I will never again be happy if this is not in my pantry. It goes with just about anything.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    boneless pork roast
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 c
    cinnamon apple sauce
  • 1/2 c
    orange ginger wok sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil to brown roast
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp
    corn starch to thicken glaze

How to Make Orange Ginger Apple Pork Roast

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown pork roast in heavy skillet and hot oil on all sides, place into prepared crockpot. I prepare my crockpot by spraying it well with a non-stick cooking spray, easier clean up.
  2. mix everything else together and pour over roast and cook on high for 4-6 hours. Turning once every hour or so to be sure glaze is coating entire roast. Test for doneness, let set for 5-10 minutes, slice across grain, and drizzle excess glaze from crockpot over the slices, serve.
