Bells Poultry Seasoning makes this different. We also use 1/2 ground pork and 1/2 gound lamb...no beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 pound gound pork
  • 2 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 1/8 cups red wine
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package frozen corn
  • - mashed potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon bells poultry seasoning

How To Make not your momma's shepards pie

  • Step 1
    This recipe makes 2 pies! Heat a small amount of oil in a fry pan, add onions. When onions are soft add the pork and lamb.
  • Step 2
    Brown meat. Add salt, pepper, bells poultry seasoning, and wine. Let reduce a bit and taste adjust seasonings if needed.
  • Step 3
    Mix flour and water, then add to the fry pan with the meat. Cook until thickened.
  • Step 4
    Add meat to two pie dishes, top with frozen corn and top with mashed potatoes.
  • Step 5
    Place in 350 oven for 35 mins...freeze the extra one!
