    ground sausage
  • 1/2 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 1/2 c
    red wine
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 4
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • ·
    fresh parsley
  • 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make Not Quite Shepard's Pie


  1. Peel, boil and mash the potatoes mix in the garlic powder, set aside.
  2. In a skillet brown the sausage, stir in the onion soup mix, red wine, flour and will thicken slightly.
  3. place in a casserole dish, let cool a bit, top with the mashed potatoes and smooth out...sprinkle the cheese evenly and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 mins or until the sides are bubbly and the cheese is melted...garnish with parsley...note* no need for salt as the onion soup mix has.
