Norwegian Meatballs in Sauce

This meatball recipe uses mashed potatoes mixed in with the meat as a binder.

extra lean ground beef
1/2 lb
extra lean ground pork
1 c
mashed potatoes
1/2 c
2 tsp
seasoning salt
1/4 tsp
cloves, ground
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground ginger
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/2 tsp
brown sugar
1 c
beef broth
1/2 c
heavy cream
1/2 c
fresh parsley, chopped

How to Make Norwegian Meatballs in Sauce


  • 1Thoroughly combine all ingredients except flour, beef broth, heavy cream and chopped parsley.
  • 2Blend well and shape into about twenty four 1 1/2 inch meatballs.
  • 3Roll lightly in flour.
  • 4Place on rack of broiler pan in preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes.
  • 5Drain.
  • 6Before serving, carefully remove meatballs to warm platter.
  • 7Stir heavy cream into broth in crockpot.
  • 8Mix until smooth.
  • 9Pour sauce over meatballs, then sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
