We live in Texas,and eating black eyed peas are to bring luck in the New Year when eaten on New Years Day. Can't say how lucky we've been because we've eaten it, but it sure is a family favorite!

stewed tomatoes
1/4 c
rotel
1 tsp
chili powder
1/4 tsp
black pepper
salt to taste

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, cook until done, drain well. Stir in onion and garlic saute' 3-5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for an hour, stirring occasionally.
