I guess everyone has their own way of making chili and this is mine.In Hawaii you can find Portuguese sausage in every store. I had a time finding the hawaii style one here in WA. But I was very very happy to find it at Grocery Outlet here in Washougal of all places! LOL Anyway, In Hawaii chili is usually served with rice..but can serve with cornbread or crackers Sooo ono.. that means GOOD!!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 package portuguese sausage
  • 4-5 slices bacon
  • 1-2 pound hamburger
  • dash curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 package chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can water(use tomato soup can)
  • 1 can (small) tomato sauce
  • 2 cans kidney beans

How To Make my recipe for chili

  • Step 1
    Cook the portuguese sausage and fry the bacon crisp. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Cook hamburger. Drain the excess oil and then add the Portuguese sausage and bacon back into the pot with hamburger.
  • Step 3
    add the spices.. curry powder,cumin, chili powders. Mix well with the meat.
  • Step 4
    Add the tomato soup,water, tomato sauce. Let simmer and then add the kidney beans with liquid. Stir well and let it cook a little longer before turning off the stove.
  • Step 5
    Laddle in a bowl with rice or serve with cornbread or crackers. It always tastes better the next day if there is any left.
