my absolute favorite meatloaf

This recipe might taste a little different to those who try it, because I use my own homemade pasta sauce as one of the ingredients. Putting in your own would probably make it more appetizing for you and family because its the flavor you are used to and like. Great as left-overs for sandwiches too.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 - pound ground pork
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 - small yellow onion (or white onion) chopped
  • 1/4 - cup green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 - bay leaf - crumbled small
  • 1/2 - teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • 1/2 - teaspoon thyme leaves, dried
  • - salt / pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces homemade or your favorite pasta sauce
  • - or - 8 oz. can of italian spiced tomato sauce
  • 1/2 - cup bread crumbs, dry

How To Make my absolute favorite meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven: 350 degrees. In a large bowl - add all ingredients and mix up well
  • Ready for the oven.
    Step 2
    Form into a loaf for your casserole dish, or put into a loaf pan
  • Step 3
    Bake @ 350 degrees - uncovered for 1-1/4 Hours. Hopefully, the meat gave you enough juices to make your own gravy. If not, you can always improvise.
  • Step 4
    When done. Let rest for several minutes, remove to a cutting board and slice. Enjoy!
