My Mom use to make this stew and my sister and I just loved it. This is a borrowed picture till I can take one of my own.

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 cups cooked pork from roast (more if you like)
  • - broth from pork roast
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 medium carrots, chopped
  • 1 large onions, chopped
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon parsely
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 medium head of cabbage ; cut into wedges
  • 1 package pork gravy mix ; optional

How To Make mom's pork stew

  • Step 1
    Add all ingredients in a dutch oven ; EXCEPT CABBAGE.
  • Step 2
    Bring to a boil on stove.
  • Step 3
    Cover and reduce heat to med-high ; until vegetables are tender.
  • Step 4
    In the last 20 minutes of cooking add the cabbage wedges to the stew ; cook until cabbage is tender.
