3 lb
pork spare ribs cut into serving sizes
1/2 c
soy sauce
4 c
1 medium
onion chopped
green pepper, chopped
2/3 c
apple cider vinegar
4 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
hot fat for browning
3/4 c
salt and pepper

How to Make Mom Sykes Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs


  • 1Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper, brown in 2 tablespoons of melted Crisco. While browning, sprinkle with mixture of 4 tablespoons of flour and 3/4 cups of sugar.
  • 2In a separate bowl combine these ingredients then pour over ribs and cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 or until tender.
    1/2 cup of soy sauce
    4 cups of water
    1 medium onion chopped
    1 green pepper chopped
    2/3 cup vinegar
  • 3Serve over rice and enjoy
