  • 3 lb
    pork spare ribs cut into serving sizes
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce
  • 4 c
  • 1 medium
    onion chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, chopped
  • 2/3 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    hot fat for browning
  • 3/4 c
  • ·
    salt and pepper

How to Make Mom Sykes Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs


  1. Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper, brown in 2 tablespoons of melted Crisco. While browning, sprinkle with mixture of 4 tablespoons of flour and 3/4 cups of sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl combine these ingredients then pour over ribs and cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 or until tender.
    1/2 cup of soy sauce
    4 cups of water
    1 medium onion chopped
    1 green pepper chopped
    2/3 cup vinegar
  3. Serve over rice and enjoy
