I don't care for chili beans so I adapted my own recipe! I always get rave reviews and requests for the recipe. It's a crowd pleaser! My husband doesn't want me to post this recipe, but it's too good not to share! I like to do the prep ahead of time when I can.

Ingredients For min's omg chili!

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    Italian pork sausage
  • 8 slice
    bacon
  • 1 can
    black beans, rinsed & drained, 15 oz.
  • 1 can
    garbanzo beans, 15 oz.
  • 3 slice
    celery, chopped
  • 1 md
    red onion, chopped
  • 1 md
    green pepper, chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic, chopped
  • 2 can
    diced tomatoes, 14.5 oz each
  • 1 can
    tomato juice, large, 46 oz.
  • 2 md
    jalepeno peppers, diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin, cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1 bunch
    fresh cilantro, rough chop

How To Make min's omg chili!

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. When heated, place bacon on cookie sheet for approximately 12 min. Let drain on paper towels. When cool, give a rough chop, set aside.

    Meanwhile, spray a large skillet with cooking oil. Saute celery, onion, green pepper, jalapeno peppers and garlic over medium heat until tender.

    Then add ground beef and sausage. Cook until no longer pink; drain.

    In a large pot or Crock Pot, add meat/veggie mixture. Add all remaining ingredients. Stir. Let simmer on low for 3 hours. Enjoy!

    Optional toppings: shredded sharp cheddar cheese, diced onion, sour cream, bacon, cilantro. I have served this in a bread bowl and let guests choose their toppings! Makes a nice presentation too!
