Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    italian sausage
  • 1 slice
    onion, chopped
  • 1 c
    instant potato flakes, dry
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 can(s)
    beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    italian seasoning

How to Make Meat and Potato Loaf

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.
  2. Shape into a 7" meatball.
  3. Place a trivet in pot.
  4. Place meat ball on a double thickness of cheesecloth (about 24" square).
  5. Holding the ends of cheesecloth, gently lower meat into pot.
  6. Loosely fold cloth over top of meat.
  7. Cover; cook on low 6-7 hours.
  8. Holding ends of cloth, lift meat from pot.
  9. Cut into wedges.
  10. Makes 6 or 7 wedges.
