My children and I did a project we called Around the World in 80 Cuisines. This is the dish we came up with for Hawaii.

Ingredients

  • 1 (4 lb) - boneless or spiral cut ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 lg. can pineapple chunks, undrained
  • 5 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce (i use low sodium)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk

How To Make luau ham

  • Step 1
    In a bowl, combine coconut milk, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, ginger and garlic powder.
  • Step 2
    Stir until the sugar is dissolved and all are well mixed.
  • Step 3
    Add the pineapple and stir to mix well.
  • Step 4
    Place the ham in a 5 qt. slow cooker.
  • Step 5
    Pour the sauce over the ham.
  • Step 6
    Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the ham is done.
  • Step 7
    Once of twice , while ham is cooking, baste it with the sauce.
