jeanne's goulash
This is a warm comfort food for cool weather. My mother fixed this for us when we were children. It was a favorite then and I still love to fix it.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound mild pork sausage
- 1 - green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 - onions, yellow, medium, diced
- 3 cups water
- 2 cans (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 cups (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons italian seasoning
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
How To Make jeanne's goulash

Step 1Brown the ground beef and ground pork over medium-high heat. Break up the meat while cooking. Spoon off any grease.

Step 2Add the onions and garlic to the pot and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 3Add 3 cups water, along with the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, and pepper. Stir well. Cover and allow to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4Add the elbow macaroni, stir well, return the lid to the pot, and simmer for about 30 minutes.

Step 5Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to sit about 15 minutes more before serving.
