This recipe came from a good friend of the family. If you have ever had a cookout and bought one of those really large packages of hot dogs, only to find out you have way too many left over - well this is a great way to use them up.

Ingredients For hot dogs a new way

  • 16
    hot dogs
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 pkg
    egg noodles
  • 1 can
    tomato sauce (28 oz)
  • 3 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 sm
    green pepper, diced

How To Make hot dogs a new way

    Slice hot dogs into penny size slices and brown in butter over medium - high heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add onions, green pepper, mix well and saute for a couple of minutes, until the onions become translucent. Add sugar, vinegar, tomato sauce and stir well.

    Lower the heat and let simmer for about 30 minutes.

    While that is simmering, prepare egg noodles according to the package directions.

    Serve the sauce on top of the egg noodles.
