This recipe came from a good friend of the family. If you have ever had a cookout and bought one of those really large packages of hot dogs, only to find out you have way too many left over - well this is a great way to use them up.

Ingredients

hot dogs
2 Tbsp
butter
1 pkg
egg noodles
1 can(s)
tomato sauce (28 oz)
3 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
cider vinegar
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 small
green pepper, diced

How to Make Hot Dogs a New Way

Step-by-Step

  • 1Slice hot dogs into penny size slices and brown in butter over medium - high heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add onions, green pepper, mix well and saute for a couple of minutes, until the onions become translucent. Add sugar, vinegar, tomato sauce and stir well.
  • 2Lower the heat and let simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • 3While that is simmering, prepare egg noodles according to the package directions.
  • 4Serve the sauce on top of the egg noodles.
