Ingredients

  • 4 - pork shoulder steaks, cut 1/2 inches thick
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 - 8-oz can crushed pineapple (juice pack)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green sweet peppers
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups hot rice

How To Make hawaiian pork steaks

  • Step 1
    Trim fat from steaks. In a large skillet brown steaks on both sides in hot oil. Drain off fat. Transfer steaks to 3 1/2-4 quart slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl combine undrained pineapple, sweet peppers ,brown sugar, tacioca, ketchup, soy sauce and dry mustard; pour over steaks.
  • Step 3
    Cover; cook on high setting for 3 1/2-4 hours. Skim and discard fat from suace. Serve meat and sauce over hot cooked rice. Sprinkle with macadamia nuts. If desired.
