Highly addicting & FULL of flavor, this macaroni is easily at home here in the Deep South along with some pork ribs or pulled pork sandwiches! Mmmmmmmmmm! Sounds good to me!

Ingredients
- 1 pound macaroni, elbow
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups milk, whole (don't use any other kind - too thin otherwise)
- 2 cups mayonnaise (see note)
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 6 - scallions, sliced thin
- 1/2 large red onion, sliced thin
- 1 large carrot, shredded
- 1 rib - celery, sliced thin
- 1 cup pineapple chunks, fresh
- - salt & pepper
How To Make hawaiian macaroni salad

Step 1Bring 4 qts of water to a boil. Add 1 tbsp salt & macaroni; cook until VERY soft, about 15 minutes. Drain & return to pot; add the cider vinegar & toss until absorbed. Let cool for 10 minutes. NOTE: Cooking until very soft makes the dressing stick to it.

Step 2Meanwhile, whisk together 1 1/2 C of the milk, 1 C of the mayonnaise, brown sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt & 2 tsp pepper. NOTE: DO NOT USE MIRACLE WHIP IN THIS RECIPE - YOU WILL RUIN IT! NOTE: Instead of using milk & brown sugar - you can use 1 can of sweetened condensed milk & white sugar.

Step 3Once the cooked pasta has cooled for 10 minutes, whisk in the dressing. Let cool completely.

Step 4Add the remaining 1/2 C milk & 1 C of mayonnaise, along with the scallions, onion, carrot, celery & pineapple. Stir to combine, then season to taste with salt & pepper. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
