This is one of my favorite things to eat. It is so good and wholesome and it just makes you feel good. I always save my ham bones in the freezer so that when I get ready to make this soup, I have it on hand...I promise you that you will love this...

Ingredients

  • 1 large ham bone with meat attached
  • - water to cover
  • 4 medium potatoes, pare and cubed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large can of tomatoes, petite chopped
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 2 large cans of veg-all (for stews)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make ham vegetable soup

  • Step 1
    Place ham bone in Dutch oven and cover with water. Boil until meat falls off of the bone, about an hour and a half. To the pot, add cubed potatoes, onions, and can of tomatoes. Cook on medium heat until potatoes are done but not mushy. Add tomato sauce, two cans of Veg-All and corn. Bring back to a boil. Add ketchup and brown sugar. Cook for another 20 minutes. Serve with crusty bread or corn bread.
