I am truly a pinch of this and a dash of that kind of cook. I can't remember the last time I followed a recipe to the letter! I've been making this loaf for almost 20 years and just recently had to write it out for the first time. Therefore, I thought I would share it! The sauce makes this recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 pound ground ham
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon each, salt and pepper
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vinegar (white or apple cider)
How To Make ham loaf

Step 1Mix together ground meats, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper and milk. Form loaf and place in large loaf pan. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.

Step 2After one hour of baking, pour tomato juice over loaf and continue baking an addional 30 to 45 minutes.

Step 3Combine brown sugar, dry mustard, water and vinegar in sauce pan. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer until sugar dissolves. Pour over loaf after removing from oven.
