this is cookin as i type...hubby used to have ham an beans at work and i've tryed makin them at home always ends up bean soup so i;m still tryin...bean soup is good too but not what hubby wants...will post after dinner how it turned out

Ingredients

  • 1-2 lb
    ham hock, smoked[i have 3]
  • 1 Tbsp
    of each...onion powder,fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tsp
    of each...dried bell peppers,dried garlic,dried celery leaves,dried parsley,
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1-30 oz
    can pinto beans

How to Make ham hock and beans with corn muffins

Step-by-Step

  1. put all except beans into crock pot set to highlet cook an hour then stir well turning each ham hock taste broth add salt if needed.cover again turn to low and cook 3-4 hours stir a few times...add beans cook another hour...during last hr bake corn muffins to have with ham and beans....sometimes i add a can of corn to this for extra color and flavor
