This my all-time favorite food! I love it so much that if there are leftovers I eat them cold straight out of the fridge.

Ingredients

won ton wrappers
1 lb
ground pork
1/2
head small cabbage finely chopped
1/2 c
carrot, shredded
1/2 c
diced onion
2 Tbsp
grated ginger
2 Tbsp
sesame oil
1/4 c
soy sauce

DIPPING SAUCE

3/4 c
soy sauce
1 Tbsp
sesame oil
2 Tbsp
splenda
1 1/8 tsp
red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp
sesame seeds

2 CUPS PEANUT OIL FOR FRYING

How to Make Gyozas

Step-by-Step

  • 1mix pork, veggies sesame oil and soy sauce
  • 2place 1 heaping tablespoon in center of won ton wrapper
  • 3moisten edges of won ton wrapper then foldin half, pleating edges to seal
  • 4repeat steps 1 through 3 until all won ton wrappers are used but remember to keep unused wrappers slightly damp while working so they don't dry out
  • 5place 2 cups peanut oil in large heavy pot or fry daddy and heat to medium high
  • 6while oil is heating, mix dipping sauce ingredients and place in fridge to chill
  • 7once oil is heated start placing filled won tons in oil with slotted spoon- do not crowd
  • 8won tons will rise to top of oil when golden brown- turn once to make sure completely golden- approximately 4 minuteds on each side
  • 9served golden, crispy won tons with dipping sauce
