  • 8 slice
    crusty italian bread
  • 1/2 c
    mixed olive mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1/2 c
    italian sandwich spread
  • 24 slice
    summer sausage
  • 8 oz
    fresh mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 1
    roasted bell pepper
  • 4 oz
    provolone cheese
  • 1/4 c
    extra virgin olive oil

How to Make Grilled Italian Sandwich

Step-by-Step

  1. Spread mayonnaise inside tops and bottoms of the bread and spread mustard on the inside tops only.
  2. Cover bottoms with sandwich spread.
  3. Layer the salami, mozzarella, the pepper cut into slices, and provolone slices in that order over the spread.
  4. Put the sandwiches together, brush the outside tops and bottoms with olive oil, and grill until the crusts are golden brown and the cheeses have melted.
  5. Transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board, let them set up for 2 minutes, cut, and serve.
