Ingredients
- 1 pound sauerkraut, rinsed, drained
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 - pork chops
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 2 medium tart green apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 4 small celery stalks, sliced
- 3 cups pale ale
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup dry sherry
How To Make german pork chops baked

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Spread drained sauerkraut evenly over bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking pan.

Step 3Sprinkle with brown sugar; add pork chops in a single layer.

Step 4Toss together sliced onions, apples and celery in medium bowl.

Step 5Spread evenly over pork chops.

Step 6Add beer.

Step 7Combine fennel seeds, cinnamon and cloves in small bowl.

Step 8Sprinkle over vegetables.

Step 9Cover pan with foil.

Step 10Bake 1 1/2 hours.

Step 11Remove foil; pour sherry over chops.

Step 12Continue to cook, uncovered, 30 minutes.

Step 13Serve with boiled potatoes or spaetzle.
