fancy nancy's sweet and savory sammie

Just made this up for Sherri's contest. It is loosely based on sandwich I had called The Elena Rouse at a place called Woody's in Chapel Hill, NC. that has since closed.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 slices roasted garlic and herb pork tenderloin
  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 3 slices brie cheese
  • slice fresh strawberries, enough to cover the pork
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons hot red pepper jelly, i use uncle gary's gourmet pepper jelly now
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 3 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter
  • 2 - scallions cut in 3 " portions
  • - red lettuce, leaves
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - optional: drizzel with basalmic vinegar after it is cooked.

How To Make fancy nancy's sweet and savory sammie

  • Step 1
    Butter bread on one side of each slice. Mix cream cheese with hot sauce and Dijon. Spread bottom with slice with dijon mixture. Spread top slice with red pepper jelly.
  • Step 2
    Assemble remaining ingredients how you would like to. I put the swiss on the bottom slice and the brie under the top slice. Grill until cheese is melted and bread is golden.
