Tender pork chops ... Tart apples and inviting cinnamon - i t doesn't get better than that! I have making this dish for years and it doesn't feel like fall until I make it! Quick and easy, this is a flavorful dish that allows you plenty of time to make your favorite sides. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 - pork chops (boneless or bone-in)
  • 4 - apples, granny smith
  • - sugar, to taste
  • - cinnamon, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • - salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make fall favorite! pork chops & apples

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In an ovenproof skillet, melt butter & add olive oil with medium high heat. Generously Salt and pepper chops on both sides. When skillet is hot, sear and brown both sides of chops. Remove & set aside.
  • Step 2
    Leave the skins on apples and slice as if making a pie. Toss the apples in bowl w/ lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon. (I am generous w/ the cinnamon.)
  • Step 3
    Place half of apples in skillet. Put browned pork chops on top and top chops with remaining apple mixture. Cover and put in oven for 35 - 40 minutes until pork registers 160 degrees. Perfect for fall!
