I came across this recipe a while back. It was awesome but Eric made a few changes to it last weekend and I must admit I think I could of eaten all by myself!! P.S you can add more ham that I have given in this recipe I think we added around 3 cups last time. Enjoy

Ingredients

  • 4 c
    potatoes, diced
  • 1/3 c
    celery, diced
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 2 c
    ham, diced
  • 3 1/4 c
    water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    chicken base
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 Tbsp
    butter
  • 5 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 c
    milk
  • ·
    ham bone

How to Make Eric's Ham and Ham and Potato Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham, ham bone,chicken base, salt & pepper and water in a stock pot. Bring to boil , then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender. About 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour and cook stirring constantly for about a minute. Slowly whisk in milk making sure not to allow lumps to form. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thicken. 5 to 7 minutes
  3. Remove ham bone from the stockpot
  4. Stir the milk sauce into the stockpot, Cook the soup until heated through. Then serve. Enjoy
