Easy Red Beans and Rice

I got this recipe a few years ago from my secretary and my family just loves it. They make it for their own families now.lt is also a good dish to take to a potluck dinner. You never bring any home and it's a good idea to copy the recipe for hand outs because you will be asked. It's easy, but tastes like you spent all day on it.

jimmy dean sausage {maple flavored)
3 can(s)
red beans
3 pkg
brown gravy mix
3 Tbsp
creole seasoning
1 tsp
ground, black pepper (optional)
3 c
2 pkg
success rice, cooked and drained

How to Make Easy Red Beans and Rice


  • 1Cook rice, drain and put aside
  • 2In a large skillet or dutch oven, brown sausage...Drain if you need to.
  • 3Add in the three cans of red beans. You do not need to drain them
  • 4Mix the three packages of gravy mix with the three cups of water. Stir well and pour into the bean mixture.
  • 5Stir until mixture thickens....Add creole seasoning and pepper (if needed). Stir in rice. Serve with hot bread and a salad....Wonderful comfort food...
