I got this recipe a few years ago from my secretary and my family just loves it. They make it for their own families now.lt is also a good dish to take to a potluck dinner. You never bring any home and it's a good idea to copy the recipe for hand outs because you will be asked. It's easy, but tastes like you spent all day on it.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    jimmy dean sausage {maple flavored)
  • 3 can(s)
    red beans
  • 3 pkg
    brown gravy mix
  • 3 Tbsp
    creole seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    ground, black pepper (optional)
  • 3 c
    water
  • 2 pkg
    success rice, cooked and drained

How to Make Easy Red Beans and Rice

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook rice, drain and put aside
  2. In a large skillet or dutch oven, brown sausage...Drain if you need to.
  3. Add in the three cans of red beans. You do not need to drain them
  4. Mix the three packages of gravy mix with the three cups of water. Stir well and pour into the bean mixture.
  5. Stir until mixture thickens....Add creole seasoning and pepper (if needed). Stir in rice. Serve with hot bread and a salad....Wonderful comfort food...
