easy crock pot ham

Recipe by

This is a mashup of many recipes from the internet, but I finally figured out exactly what I wanted. If you’re not a pineapple fan, use apple juice or about half a can of Coke or another dark soda. Water works, too, if you don’t want the extra favor. If you use a spiral cut ham, it may be warmed through a little earlier. (Just something I read often in other recipes.) The ham I get from Costco is pre-scored, as you can see from the photos, and also precooked. =^..^=

Ingredients For easy crock pot ham

  • 3.5-4 lb
    fully precooked ham
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, packed & divided
  • 20 oz
    can pineapple with juice, optional
  • some
    maraschino cherries, optional
  • some
whole cloves or ground cloves, optional

How To Make easy crock pot ham

  • 1
Spray the crock with cooking spray or use a liner for quick cleanup.
  • 2
Place the ham in the crockpot, fat side down. Score the top of the ham, if you want more flavor to soak down into the ham.
  • 3
Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the brown sugar over the ham. ***Save the other 1/2 cup of brown sugar for later. OR just add it all now, if you prefer. See Step #6.
  • 4
Pour the pineapple juice over and around the ham, then add 1/2 of the pineapple to the crock. ***See the note in the About Your Recipe section, if you don’t like pineapple. You need about 1/2 cup of liquid of some sort. *****Save the rest of the pineapple for later, OR just add it all now, if you prefer. See Step #6.

Add some cherries and/or cloves (or a sprinkle of ground cloves), if desired. I even added a little cherry juice over the ham, just for flavor.

Cover & cook on HIGH for 2 hours, then add the rest of the brown sugar & pineapple to the top of the ham, if you haven’t just put it all in at the beginning. Cook 30 more minutes. ***OR just cook for 2.5 hours (total), if you like. I’ve done it both ways and the only difference to me is that some of the pineapple is more cooked. My photo shows the pineapple both ways.
