Ingredients
- 1 pound red beans (or you can use kidney beans)
- 1 cup water
- 4 cups water or stock
- 1 - hambone
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- - large dash of hot sauce
- 2 - bay leaves
- dash garlic powder
- 1/2 pound cubed ham
- 1 pound sliced sausage ( i use kielbasa or andoulli)
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
How To Make donna's red beans n rice

Step 1Boil 1 Minute a 1 Pound Bag of Red Beans In 1 Cup Water. Let Sit, for 1 hour. pour the water off the beans and add 4 cups of water or stock.

Step 2Add Ham Bone, 1 t Worcestershire sauce, large dash of Tabasco, dash of garlic powder, 2 bay leaves.

Step 3Saute 1 clove garlic, 1 c chopped celery and 1 c chopped onions. Add to beans. Add pepper to taste.

Step 4Simmer several hours.

Step 5Saute 1/2 pound of cubed ham meat and 3/4 to 1 lb sausage, sliced (I would use a kielbasa or andoulli). Add to beans during the last hour of cooking.

Step 6Serve over hot cooked rice. Freezes well.
