Sometimes I follow this recipe.. Sometimes I use one meat or the other. No matter how you choose to cook it... It is a filling recipe. Try adding sour cream before eating or add pepper jack cheese. Every time I prepare this recipe I change it up a bit. It will serve several.

Ingredients

2 pounds sausage
2 pounds ground chuck
2 boxes uncle bens 23 herbs and seasonings rice
1 large bell pepper
1 large onion
2 cans mushrooms
- salt and pepper to taste
- hot pepper, optional

How To Make dirty rice

Step 1

Brown sausage and ground chuck together, drain.

Step 2

While browning meats cook rice according to directions on package.
Step 3

Add mushrooms to meat mixture. Chop pepper and onion add to meats, add rice to meat mixture and simmer until vegetables are tender.
Step 4

Salt and pepper to taste and add hot pepper to your taste if desired. I use cayenne pepper.
