Ingredients
- 3 large onions
- 2 tablespoons olive or canola oil
- 6-8 - boneless pork chops (1/2-inch thick or less)
- 1 cup lite soy sauce
- 3 cups very hot water
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
How To Make deliciously sweet pork chops
-
Step 1Peel and slice onions into very thin, round slices. Spray large-deep skillet with butter flavored non-stick spray. Add oil and heat over medium-heat. Place onions in skillet, cover and cook until transparent and tender; but not browned. Remove and set aside. Pour off any moisture from skillet and wipe dry with paper towel.
-
Step 2Trim all fat from chops. Spray same skillet again and place chops in skillet. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes on each side. Do not cook fully and do not brown.
-
Step 3Mix brown sugar, soy sauce and hot water in small bowl until brown sugar is completely dissolved. Spoon onions over chops in skillet. Pour soy sauce mixture over chops and onions; bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and turn down heat so the dish is just simmering. Simmer for 1/2-hour or until meat is thorougly cooked and tender.
