Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 pound italian sausage, no casings
  • 1 large head of cabbage chopped
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 can rotel tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1 medium can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons knorr tomato -chicken bouillion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

How To Make deconstructed cabbage rolls

  • Step 1
    In large pot brown hamburger and sausage until no longer pink. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add cabbage and all remaining ingredients. Stir well to make sure mixture is combined.
  • Step 2
    Cover and cook on low heat until rice is tender between 30-40 mins. Stir during cooking to prevent sticking.
  • Step 3
    My family loves this with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Enjoy:)
