How to Make Crockpot Red Beans and Rice
- Soak red beans in cold water for one hour.
- Add the ham hock and seasonings and cook on high for 1-2 hours. Then cut the heat to low setting for overnight cooking.
- In the morning brown 1 lb of the ground chuck, drain and add to the beans/ham hocks/water.
- add the can of diced tomatoes and the hillshire sausage cut up to the beans and simmer for most of the day.
- Serve over hot rice.
