crockpot red beans and rice

A good friend shared this recipe with me. She gave me the ingredients to make Alot of the spices which I keep in a shaker bottle and add the seasoning to taste for this recipe. I will post the spice ingredients on the next post.

Ingredients
- 1 - bag red beans
- 1 - hamhock
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 - hillshire sausage,cut up
- - seasoning to taste
How To Make crockpot red beans and rice

Step 1Soak red beans in cold water for one hour.

Step 2Add the ham hock and seasonings and cook on high for 1-2 hours. Then cut the heat to low setting for overnight cooking.

Step 3In the morning brown 1 lb of the ground chuck, drain and add to the beans/ham hocks/water.

Step 4add the can of diced tomatoes and the hillshire sausage cut up to the beans and simmer for most of the day.

Step 5Serve over hot rice.
