We love pulled pork sandwiches even though we're Mainers through and through!

Ingredients

  • 1 4-lb - pork shoulder roast
  • 2 medium - onions, thinly sliced
  • 1-1/2 cup water
  • 1 16-oz bottles barbecue sauce or 2 cups homemade
  • 1 cup chopped onion

How To Make crockpot pulled pork

  • Step 1
    Place half of the thinly sliced onions in bottom slow cooker; add pork and water, along with remaining onion slices.
  • Step 2
    Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. Drain liquid from slow cooker, shred meat and place back in cooker. Add barbecue sauce and chopped onion. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours longer. Stir occasionally. Serve with warm split buns and coleslaw.
