crock pot herbed spaghetti sauce

I throw all this in the slow cooker and let it go a few hours and serve with any pasta I happen to have on hand! I've gotten to where this is about all I cook for pasta. Its so much better than any brand of jarred sauce out there and I would bet its better for you anyway! Gustare!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 - onion,
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cans (15 oz,) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cans (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can (6 oz.) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (sub 1 tbsp. dried)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (sub 1 tbsp.dried)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • - hot cooked pasta

How To Make crock pot herbed spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
    Combine ground beef, sausage, onion and garlic in a large frying pan; cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat.
  • Step 2
    Drain off grease. Pour meat mixture and remaining ingredients except for spaghetti into slow cooker.
  • Step 3
    Cook over low heat for 3-4 hours.
  • Step 4
    Serve over hot cooked pasta, any type.
