HFCS-Free! I threw this together for a quick, easy dinner when trying to use up meats out of the freezer.

Ingredients

  • 7-8 - italian sausage links, cut up (make sure the brand you use has no hfcs)
  • 1 - 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 - med. onion, coarsly chopped
  • 1 - small green pepper, coarsly chopped
  • 2 pints chopped tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups honey barbecue sauce (i used billy bee brand, which is hfcs-free)
  • - crushed red pepper (optional)

How To Make crock pot bbq sausage & beef

  • Step 1
    Note: The sausage & the BBQ Sauce brands are important. Make sure, as suggested, that what you are using has no HFCS.
  • Step 2
    Spray skillet with cooking spray. Brown sausage. Drain.
  • Step 3
    Sautee onion & peppers in skillet until just tender.
  • Step 4
    Brown ground beef. Drain.
  • Step 5
    Combine all meat, onions & peppers in a 4 Qt. crock pot.
  • Step 6
    Add chopped tomatoes, BBQ sauce & crushed red pepper to taste.
  • Step 7
    Cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  • Step 8
    Stir. Serve over cooked rice.
