Sweet sticky pork belly. Roasted to perfection with crispy skin

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork belly sliced into spare ribs size
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons each shaoxing wine, or dry sherry and honey
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon each chines five spice and red food coloring
  • GLAZE
  • 1/4 cup each hoisin sauce, and soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon each shaoxing wine or sherry and honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon each chinese five spice and red food coloring

How To Make chinese red roasted pork belly

  • Step 1
    Mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, honey brown sugar, garlic, Chinese 5 spice and red food coloring together. Add the Pork belly and marinate overnight.
  • Step 2
    Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a roasting pan with foil. Place the grate in the bottom of the roasting pan. Add the pork belly and discard the marinade.
  • Step 3
    Roast the pork belly for 2 hours turning every half hour.
  • Step 4
    Mix the ingredients for the glaze together in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low and reduce by half. Serve the glaze over the pork belly
