pork chops, 1/2 inch thick
1
beaten egg
1 Tbsp
milk
2/3 c
fine dry bread or cracker crumbs
2 Tbsp
shortening
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 c
water

How to Make Chicken Fried Pork Chops

Step-by-Step

  • 1Trim excess fat from chops.
    Combine beaten egg and milk.
    Dip pork chops in egg mixture, then into bread crumbs.
  • 2In a heavy skillet, brown chops on both sides in hot shortening.
    Season with salt
    Add 1/4 cup water.
  • 3Cover and cook over low heat for 30 to 45 minutes, or until tender.
    Lift chops occasionally to prevent sticking.
    For crisp coating, remove cover the last 15 minutes.
