cheesy ham and potatoes

My family loves having this on a cold day, it really warms them up. It's thick like a stew so I love to serve it with homemade dinner rolls, so they can dip them in the gravy. Oh so yummy and it is easy on the pocket book.

Ingredients

  • 1 package country style gravy mix (enough to make 2 cups)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (or mushroom)
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 8 cups peeled and cubed potatoes
  • 4 cups cooked and cubed ham (leftover works great)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make cheesy ham and potatoes

  • Step 1
    Mix the first six(6) ingredients together in a six to eight quart slow cooker until well blended.
  • Step 2
    Stir in your cubed ham and potatoes.
  • Step 3
    Turn your slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours.
  • Step 4
    When done turn off your slow cooker and stir in your cheddar cheese until it's all melted. Serve with rolls,toast or biscuits!
