Ingredients
- 1 cup strong black coffee
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup chili powder
- 1 teaspoon mexican oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion chopped
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 2 chipotle chili in adobo sauce minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 5 pounds boneless pork shoulder
- limes,rice, pico de gallo, sour cream for serving
How To Make carne adovada

Step 1Preheat oven 325 degrees. Add raisins to the hot cup of coffee and set aside. In a small bowl mix the flour, chili powder, and oregano together. Set aside

Step 2Cut pork into chunks about 1 inch size. Season with salt and pepper. Heat a large dutch oven on stove and add the oil. Brown the pork pieces in batches until browned well on all sides. Remove the pork to a plate and set aside.

Step 3Add onions to the pan and cook until soft. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute. Add the chipotle and stir for 2 minutes. Add the chili powder mixture. Add the broth and coffee/raisin mixture. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and simmer 5 minutes. With an immersion blender or food processor puree until smooth Return the pork to the pan

Step 4Place in oven bake for 2 hours. Serve over rice topped with pico de gallo and sour cream
