The sauce really brings out the pork flavor so well. My hubby swears this is a dessert, lol.

Ingredients For caramel-apple pork chops

  • 4
    pork chops, 3/4"-thick
  • 1 tsp
    vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    light brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 2 lg
    grannysmith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 3 Tbsp
    chopped pecans

How To Make caramel-apple pork chops

    Heat oven to 175 to keep pork chops war while making sauce. Place a baking dish in oven to warm. Heat oil in lg skillet over med-high heat.

    Brown chops on both sides. Transfer chops to warm baking dish. Keep in oven to keep warm. In bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add butter to skillet over medium heat.

    Stir in brown sugar mix. Add apples. Cover, cook until apples are tender. Remove apples and place them on top of pork chops. Cook sauce in skillet until thickened. Spoon sauce over chops and apples. Sprinkle w/ pecans.
