Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 - bone-in center cut pork chops ( 6 to 8 oz. each )
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 large sweet potatoes ( about 8 oz. each ) , peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 - golden delious apples or if you want more of a bite use granny smith or 1 of each
  • - 2 or 3 sprigs of thyme

How To Make braised pork chops with sweet potatoes and apples in the crock pot

  • Step 1
    In a large Bowl, Stir togeather, the flour salt and pepper - Dredge the chops in the flour mixture, shaking off excess - in a Large skillet, Heat oil over Medium High Heat - Add the Chops and cook untill lightly Browned ( about 2 or 3 minutes each side ) Then transfer Chops to the Slow Cooker, in the same skillet add the onion and cook untill softened ( about 3 minutes ) . Pour Broth in the skillet - Turn Heat to Highand Bring to a Boil, Stirring to pick up any browned bits left from the chops - Pour the Broth over the Chops in the slow cooker, Scatter the sweet potatoes and Apples all around the chops, - Add the Thyme ,put cover on Slow Cooker and Cookon LOW for about 3 hours OR on HIGH for About 1 1/2 Hours Untill everything is cooked and tender.
