Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef ribs or short ribs
- - salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 12 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 - inch pc. ginger, peeled into 1/4" slices
- 12 ounces ale
- 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cups hoisin sauce
- 1 cup water
How To Make braised hoisin ribs with beer

Step 1Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a pot with a lid over high heat. Brown the ribs on all sides Remove the ribs from the pot

Step 2Return the pot to the stove, and saute the garlic and ginger on med. heat for about 3 mins. Add the ribs, beer, vinegar and water to the pot. Stir and then cover and simmer for 2 hours.

Step 3Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 4Pour the Hoisin sauce over the ribs, move the pot to the oven, and cook uncovered for 30 mins.

Step 5Remove ribs and ginger from the sauce and pour the remaining sauce over the ribs for extra flavor.
