braised cabbage squash & bacon
I love cabbage and squash. I decided to combine the two with my all time favorite "BACON"...The combination of the three with the sweet garlic vinaigrette made this one great side dish. Cooking with Passion! sw:)

Ingredients
- 1 medium red cabbage, sliced
- 2 medium yellow squash, cut
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 4 slices thick bacon, cut into pieces
- 1-2 tablespoon italian parsley, chopped
- 2-3 ounces sweet garlic vinaigrette
- 2 teaspoons roasted granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning
- - sea salt to taste
How To Make braised cabbage squash & bacon

Step 1in a large heated skillet, fry bacon pieces until crispy. remove bacon and set aside

Step 2add onions to the rendered bacon fat, sautee onions until translucent. add pepper, italian seasoning and garlic

Step 3add cabbage to the skillet, sautee for about a minute. add squash, parsley add salt

Step 4sautee for an additinal 4-5 minutes. add vinaigrette and braise for a couple of minutes until squash is fork tender. do not over cook

Step 5on a large platter add you veggie medley and top with crisy bacon. ENJOY!
