It's been a tradition of men on the grill, but I've recently learned how to smoke and grill ribs and I love it!

Ingredients
- 2 - racks back ribs, membrane removed
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 2 tablespoons blackened seasoning
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped fine
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 1/4 cups ketchup
- 1/3 cup dark rum
How To Make blazin' bbq rum raisin ribs

Step 1Rub the ribs with 2 Tbs. olive oil, and then the blackened seasoning to coat well.

Step 2For the sauce: (can be made ahead of time). Heat 2 Tbs. of the oil in a 3-qt. saucepan over med-low heat. Stir in the onion, water, raisins, molasses, ketchup and rum. Continue cooking for 25 minutes, reduce to simmer.

Step 3Gas Grill Method: Oil the grid. Pre-heat grill for indirect cooking to medium heat. Place ribs meat side down on grid. Cook 15 minutes on each side. Remove, baste with sauce only(no raisins) and wrap tightly with foil. Place back on grill and cook for 45 more minutes. Remove foil, cook 10 minutes. Smoker Method: Smoke over hickory at 250 degrees for two hours. Prepare sauce. At the 2-hour mark, remove ribs, baste with sauce only (no raisins) and wrap tightly in foil. Place back on heat and continue to cook for one hour. Remove foil, cook for 30 minutes.

Step 4Drizzle remaining raisin sauce over before serving. Makes two racks.
