beer brats
We love this recipe and have used it many times. The amounts don't have to be exact. Sometimes the sauerkraut comes in different sizes. One note about that is we like to use kraut in a glass jar or the Boars Head brand. You probably want around 2 cups. Kraut in a tin can tastes like a tin can in my opinion.

- 12 ounces beer, any kind
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cups sauerkraut
How To Make beer brats
-
Step 1You can do this on the grill on in the oven. We use a disposable aluminum pan large enough to hold everything.
-
Step 2Put the pan on the grill (or on a cookie sheet if you are using the oven.) Add everything.
-
Step 3Cook for about 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees F in the oven or on medium-high on the grill. Or until the brats are cooked through.
-
Step 4Once the brats are cooked through, we like to move them to the grill grates to crisp them up. If using the oven, we like the crisp them up on an iron skillet or other skillet that is really hot.
-
Step 5Strain the sauerkraut and serve on buns with mustard and the sauerkraut.
