Ingredients
- 12 ounces dried beans
- 5 cups water
- 2 cups ham, cooked and chopped
- 1 cup celery ribs, chopped
- 1 cup onions, diced
- 1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 2 teaspoons beef base
- 1 teaspoon chicken base
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- pinch dill
- pinch caraway seeds
- 1 - garlic clove, minced
How To Make beans and ham - crockpot

Step 1If using beans other than lima\'s make sure the beans are tender at the end of the cooking time, soak beans overnight, or boil on stovetop for 10 minutes prior to adding them to the crockpot.

Step 2Combine all ingredients in crockpot.

Step 3Cook on low 8 hours or until beans are tender.

Step 4Notes: Use 4 cups water for baby lima beans.

Step 5Use 2 tablespoons of dried vegetables in place of 1 cup fresh.

Step 6Use 1 tablespoon dried carrot tops in place of sliced fresh carrots.
