If you marinate while you are at work (I come home at lunch to turn the ham), you can have a great grilled meal in minutes on a weeknight. Kids like this too, making it a plus!

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 pounds slice fully cooked ham (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

How To Make barbecued gingered ham slice

  • Step 1
Score the fat on the ham slice. Place the ham slice in a large shallow dish.
  • Step 2
Combine the ginger ale and remaining ingredients; stir well. Pour the marinade mixture over the ham slice. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours, turning once.
  • Step 3
Remove the ham slice from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  • Step 4
Grill, covered, over medium coals for 8 to 10 minutes on each side. Make sure your coals are not too hot!. Baste the ham slice frequently with the reserved marinade.
