Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 24 - asparagus spears
  • 8 slices ham, cooked and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

How To Make asparagus ham rolls

  • Step 1
    In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and cook until thick.
  • Step 2
    Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened.
  • Step 3
    Stir in cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat.
  • Step 5
    Place three asparagus stalks on each ham slice.
  • Step 6
    Roll up; secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  • Step 7
    Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; cover with cheese sauce.
  • Step 8
    Sprinkle with crumbs.
  • Step 9
    Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
